igus invites submissions of creative applications of Energy Chains for its biennial international competition
The possible uses of Energy Chain Systems is now vast – they withstand seawater on ships and oil rigs, prevent the permeation of dirt and dust in material handling systems, provide ISO Class 1 protection in cleanrooms, and countless other applications.
To find the most innovative uses of Energy Chain Systems, igus, the motion plastic specialist, invites submissions for the biennial vector award – a celebration of inventive and creative applications for energy supply solutions. “Even for us, it is sometimes still surprising and exciting to see where and how customers use our Energy Chains,” explained Harold Nehring, head of Energy Chain Systems at igus GmbH. “We want to use this competition to honor new ways of using our products and the innovation of design engineers.”
Submissions will be judged by an outside panel of science and technology experts, and winners will receive prizes of up to 5,000 Euros (approx. $5,415) at the official awards ceremony, to be held at the Hannover Messe Trade Fair in April. Deadline for entries is February 26, 2016. More information and participation conditions, and past entries are available at www.vector-award.eu.
