Tables from Helukabel simplify cable selection process

June 24, 2013 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

An easy-to-use PDF from HELUKABEL can make cable selection painless. The company’s Industrial Automation Cable Selection Tables highlights options for its motor, servo, and feedback cables; its single conductors; and control, data, bus, and industrial Ethernet cables. It is broken out into two major categories: fixed and flexing application cables.

It begins by encouraging users to determine five key requirements:

  • will the cable be used for fixed or flexing applications
  • what type of cable are you looking for: control, data, servo, bus, etc.
  • what type of jacket material is needed
  • do you need shielded or unshielded
  • and what approvals do you need to meet (UL/CSA, VDE, CE, etc.)

The tables list everything from voltage classes, to color and temperature ratings to details with and without UL ratings. It also offers details on connectors.
