High-speed cables from TE offer signal integrity in IEEE 1394 applications

September 27, 2016 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

te-high-speed-data-cablesTE Connectivity Ltd., Harrisburg, Pa., launched new Raychem high-speed data transmission cables for IEEE 1394 applications. Designed for use with military ground, military and commercial aerospace and marine systems, the ruggedized cable helps block out excess noise in harsh environments to enable dependable signal integrity in extreme conditions.

Military and aerospace applications demand lightweight and efficient solutions that can withstand harsh environments. TE’s portfolio of fine gauge IEEE 1394 cable designs have a small cable diameter to offer greater flexibility and a tight bend radius for easy routing through small spaces. The cable is available in four-conductor configurations to meet the needs of IEEE 1394A and B applications, up to 3.2 Gb/s speeds. This flexible design is ideal for mission systems, flight control, avionics and propulsion control applications.

“Our expansive research and development programs in material sciences enable us to continually create robust high speed data cables to help meet the harsh environment demands of aerospace, marine, space and ground systems,” said Juan Contreras, product manager, Aerospace, Defense and Marine at TE.

TE’s Raychem high-speed cable for IEEE 1394 applications helps to meet many standard harsh environment cable requirements, including wide temperature range, aerospace flammability, low smoke generation, and easy termination.
