In our newest Product Spotlight video on the Design World Channel, I teamed up with Associate Editor Mike Santora to take a peek inside igus’ Chainflex cables sample box, which has been designed to help electrical engineers specify the most effective cable for their demanding motion control applications. Included are samples of the German manufacturer’s Chainflex robot, bus, and servo cables, as well as those designed for long life use with E-chains, such as PVC/PVC oil-resistant iguPur, PUR and TPE cables.

Also included is an in-depth catalog featuring critical technical data specs, test results and cable terminology to help users select the best product for their applications. Several brochures give a look at all the different parts of igus’ Chainflex line, highlighting key design features and benefits; for example, that the abrasion-resistant jacket material resists wear, especially in harsh environments or that the company’s special core bundle design prevents damage from corkscrewing.

Users can see how several different types of Chainflex cables are constructed, especially with cutaway samples that show off the braiding, insulation and conductors and jacketing used.
