Listen in as Michael Traskos, president of Lectromec, and I discuss the importance of wire life extension programs in aircraft and how these maintenance services can be used in other industrial electrical wire systems.
Lectromec is a technology and engineering firm that specializes in the risk assessment of aircraft wiring systems.
Traskos highlights how the Boeing 747 contains more than 150 miles of wire that is necessary to keep the airplane in flight. Making sure that these wires are safe and reliable is necessary, as faulty wires can lead to aircraft loss. In addition, addition talks about the move to more electric aircraft (MEA), and how this push away from mechanical power systems and higher voltages is leading to more concern in the industry.
