L-com Global Connectivity has released a new series of USB 3.0 cable assemblies with low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) jackets and ferrite beads.
Ferrite beads prevent interference from a connected device or to a connected device and help to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) from either being radiated by a cable or being received by a cable.
Additionally, these new USB 3.0 cables feature LSZH cable jackets and connector over molds. LSZH compound reduces the amount of toxic and corrosive gases emitted during combustion, and will self-extinguish after catching on fire.
L-com offers two versions of these assemblies. One version features USB 3.0 Type-A male to Type-A male connectors and the other version features USB 3.0 Type-A male to Type-B male connectors.
“These new USB cables with ferrites and low-smoke jackets offer multiple levels of protection while providing high-speed USB 3.0 performance. These new assemblies are perfect for data storage, streaming video and data acquisition applications,” said Brian Gates, Product Manager.
