L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, now offers a variety of metal-armored DVI cable assemblies with up to 1500 PSI (pounds per square inch) resistance to crushing impacts. The new products are designed for use in the punishing environments commonly found in military/aerospace, security, medical facility and industrial applications.
The new DVI cables join a growing list of armored cables offered by L-com, including armored HDMI cables, USB cables, and most recently D-Subminiature cables. The DVI versions include options for DVI-D single link or dual link, and straight to straight or straight to right angle cables. They will be available in four stock lengths: 3 feet, 5 feet, 10 feet and 15 feet long.
“Digital video for signs, displays, kiosks and controls in hazardous environments is more and more important today,” said Steve Smith, Product Manager. “We’re doing what we can to offer solutions that allow these critical applications to continue despite impacts and other abuse.”
The new cables will ship from L-com’s North Andover, MA, USA fulfillment center. Free engineering drawings and 3D CAD models may be downloaded from L-com’s website.
