L-com adds Cat6, 5e and 5 PoE injectors with power supplies

February 5, 2015 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

lcom_bt-cat5-p1x-webL-com Global Connectivity, North Andover, Mass., has added a series of Cat6, Cat5e and Cat5 PoE Injectors with 56 Vdc power supplies to address applications where power and data are required to connect end devices over long distances.

The 56 Vdc power supplies shipped with the injectors can be used for 48 Vdc PoE applications that involve long cable runs. The 56 Vdc power output compensates for any voltage loss in the cable over long distances. Furthermore, the higher wattage of the 56 Vdc power supply is ideal for powering multiple PoE devices or high power PoE devices.

A range of options is available within the series. These include single port and quad port injectors, DIN rail mounting options, internal high powered surge protection as well as support for 802.3af and 802.3at standards.

“Our new PoE injectors coupled with 56 Vdc power supplies were specifically designed to overcome the limitations of long-run PoE applications where more power is required. Additionally, these new kits are perfect for high-power PoE applications such as PTZ IP camera and high speed gigabit Ethernet device connectivity applications,” commented Ken Burgner, Product Manager.
