Free cable management dresspack configurator simplifies selection

January 22, 2019 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

igus has developed a new robot dresspack configurator, a free online tool that can be used to find the ideal cable management system for virtually every robot available on the market.

igus cable management dresspack configuratorEnergy supply systems, which are capable of high-performance, three-dimensional movements reliably protect cables and hoses during the highly dynamic motions of industrial robots. Many automated units work three shifts and are expected to last for many years.

Appropriate protection is only guaranteed if all of the components are matched to the respective robot model. The selection process for components can be time-consuming and error-prone, but the igus configurator enables designers to find the right system based on the triflex R energy chain from igus. Easy to install and fill, the maintenance-free multi-axis energy chain protects moving cables on the robot in every direction and thus increases service life of the automated unit.

With the robot dresspack configurator, the user saves time and money by greatly reducing engineering time. Finding the right energy supply system is extremely easy with igus.

At www.igus.com/quickrobot, the user selects the robot manufacturer and then decides on the type and model as well as the axes they want to equip. The next step is the choice of a retraction system, which keeps the energy chain under tensile stress, to avoid looping and protect against damage.

A picture then shows a visualization of the robot and the components of the energy supply system. The user then configures the triflex R e-chain type and the size.

Users have the option to add extra protectors and triflex R chain links. The configurator automatically creates a list of all the components of the energy supply system, which can then be converted to a PDF for the user to save. The components can also be added to the shopping cart and another click will take users to CAD models of the components.

The new robot dresspack configurator allows quick and easy selection of the right robot energy supply for more than 400 robot models.
