When faced with extremely cold temperatures, most PVC, Teflon, and polyurethane jacketed cables will become stiff and brittle. This is why Cicoil promotes the use of its shock absorbing Flexx-Sil encapsulation on its flat cables to operate reliably in cryogenic temperatures (down to –65°). These flexible designs are Class 1 Clean Room Rated, are 100% contaminant free, exceed the outgassing requirements of ASTM E-595 and are well suited for use in vacuum environments.

By encasing individual components, each crystal-clear cable can incorporate controlled impedance pairs, power conductors, Ethernet, thermocouple, coax, USB, FireWire, tubing for liquid or air transfer, and its StripMount fastening strip, all combined in a single flat profile, precisely controlling the inner and outer dimensions of the entire cable. Integrating all these multiple elements into a compact flat cable design allows for a tighter bend radius, space and weight savings, noise reduction and longer service life.
Flexx-Sil encapsulation needs no external conduit for protection, retains flexibility and will not deform, wear or crack due to long term exposure to extremely low temperatures, vibration, high heat (260°C), mechanical stress, water, alcohol and many chemicals. In addition, the ultra-durable Flexx-Sil jacketing material is “self-healing” from small punctures and cable jacket damage can easily be repaired in the field.
They are available in both standard and custom designs, with cable assemblies and connectors. Cicoil offers anti-friction coatings, impact resistant Super Tuff jacketing and custom shape designs by request
Flexx-Sil Jacketed Cables are UL & CSA Recognized, CE Conforming, RoHS & REACH Compliant, and are manufactured in an automated, climate controlled environment.
